Another phase of training in preparation for a challenging global blue sea sailing voyage has been completed by the all-female Tri-Services crew. Next, the training expedition will set out for a rigorous trip from Mumbai to Lakshwadeep and back. The voyage will carry 12 female officers from the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. They are gearing up for the "Around the World Sailing Competition" that will commence in September this year. The Tri-Services all-women crew will navigate international waters, cross the equator, round Cape Horn, navigate the Panama Canal, cross the Pacific Ocean, explore Australia, navigate the Indian Ocean, pass the Suez Canal, and visit European ports.
The crew's determined effort is expected to be a major turning point in the history of Indian military services. As they set out on their worldwide circumnavigation journey, this set of exemplary crew hopes to shatter stereotypes and promote "Nari Shakti", or women's power. Over 27 days in the Arabian Sea, they persevered through difficult challenges and demonstrated tenacity, dedication, and an adventurous spirit.
The expedition, despite facing challenging conditions like varying wind conditions, sweltering heat, and choppy waters will showcase their physical prowess, mental fortitude, and teamwork. It highlights the importance of inclusivity and diversity in maritime and military endeavors, inspiring resilience and determination in breaking barriers.
