9 phenomenal women who have done exemplary work in their respective fields have been recently awarded the prestigious Jaya Arunachalam Awards for Excellence in Women Entrepreneurship during the UNCSocD62 event organized in February 2024. These remarkable Indian women entrepreneurs are from Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu. They used to get small loans, but now that they have significant support services, they have thrived in their fields. They have overcome numerous barriers, and poverty, have been able to provide their kids with better education, moved from the unorganized to the pre-organized sectors, and also empowered others in the process during the past thirty years. Their motivational success stories have been conveyed through testimonial videos to others as they highlight the revolutionary potential of financial inclusion.

The President of WWF-ICNW Dr. Nandini Azad addressed the event by mentioning the remarks made by former US Secretary of State Mme. Hillary Clinton when she stressed the significance of preventing gender-based violence. The event further provided a forum that supports the incorporation of financial inclusion into programs that aim at eradicating gender-based violence, focusing on the contributions made by the cooperatives to the alleviation of poverty.

These young women have shown incredible growth and strength by upskilling their talents and learning traditional skills despite hardships and challenges. They have alleviated their organizations with the help of WWF-ICNW and other organizations.
