With a tableau honoring gender equality, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) will march in the Republic Day parade 2024. In August 2023, the space agency successfully landed on the Moon which created a historic achievement. The tableau will have the Indian flag symbolizing the Shiv Shakti point. The point on the moon where India made its landing was named Shiv Shakti in an effort to promote gender equality and inclusivity. Smaller displays of India's first mission to study the Sun, Bharatiya Antariksh Station, and the country's upcoming Gaganyaan mission will also be included in the tableau.
Eight female scientists who have contributed to these missions' success will be in the tableau along with the accomplishments of the space agency. 212 additional female scientists from the space agency will be present at the parade. The Navy's "unwavering" dedication to "Nari Shakti" will also be displayed in the parade's naval tableau, which will primarily highlight women in all roles and at all levels.
India achieved inclusivity and gender equality by soft-landing on the Moon's surface on 23 August 2023, marking the first nation to do so near the southern pole, and declared National Space Day. ISRO plans to launch its space station components by 2028 and heavier-lift launch vehicles by 2035, while continuing Moon missions with Chandrayaan-4, a sample-return mission, bringing back Moon rocks and soil.
