75 CRPF Women to rally for 1,848 Km from Delhi to Maoist-affected Chattisgarh City

Today on March 9, around 75 women ‘Daredevils’ from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) set out on a 1,848 Km bike rally from India Gate to Maoist-affected Jagdalpur city in Chhattisgarh. The women’s bike rally is an initiative taken to promote women's empowerment and the concept of an end to Maoism and Naxalism. The CRPF Women will end the rally on 25 March in Jagdalpur with a Parade conducted in the presence of Union Home Minister, Mr. Amit Shah.
Five states will be traveled through by the 75 female CRPF bikers on their 17-day journey on Royal Enfield Bikes.
The rally started after Meenakshi Lekhi, Minister of State for the Ministry of External Affairs flagged off whereas the Women personnel of CRPF performed a rifle drill along with other women’s pipe bands and drummers. At this event, Sujoy Lal Thaosen, Director General of CRPF mentioned the aim of the rally. He said that as India is celebrating its 75 years of independence, 75 CRPF Women will travel 1,848 Km across five different states to reach Jagdalpur city. The women bikers will also inspire many female workers, students, and groups through this journey. He further added about the aim of this rally, that is to put an end to Naxalism and Maoism in the country.
Meenakshi further said that the women bikers are carrying a clear message of peace, security, and goodwill for the society and nation. Nearly 3.5 lakh personnel officers will ensure tight security in the Maoist-affected areas along with the terror-hit areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
