7 Female Candidates inducted as Union Ministers in Modi 3.0 Cabinet

According to the new council of ministries, seven women in Union Ministries, including two in Cabinet roles, have been inducted into the new Modi 3.0 cabinet on 18th Lok Sabha on Sunday. The council, which dissolved on June 5, has 10 women ministries. The new Indian cabinet, with 7 women ministries, demonstrates a commitment to gender diversity, despite room for improvement, this signifies the cruciality of women's empowerment in politics.
The newly elected female ministers include, Nirmala Sitharaman, Former Union Minister, now inducted into the union cabinet. Annpurna Devi, BJP MP, Shobha Karandlaje, BJP MP, Raksha Khadse, BJP MP, Savitri Thakur, BJP MP, Nimuben Bambhaniya, BJP MP, Anupriya Patel, Apna Dal MP. However, Former Union Minister Smriti Irani, Minister of State Bharti Pawar, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, Darshana Jardosh, Meenakshi Lekhi, and Pratima Bhoumik have been removed from the council.
The Lok Sabha elections saw 74 women elected, a slight decrease from 2019 with 78 candidates. This marks the start of a new coalition government after two terms with the BJP, where 8 female candidates took oath in 2014, and 6 female candidates in 2019 and now it includes ten women ministers by the end of the 17th Lok Sabha elections.
