Rajasthan Cabinet approved a 33 per cent reservation for women in the police force, aiming to increase women's representation in law enforcement and promote gender equality in public service roles. The reservation will apply across all recruitment for constables, sub-inspectors, and other police personnel, aligning with broader initiatives to increase women's participation in various sectors.
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma chaired a meeting that approved a proposal to allot land for a 3,150 MW solar power project that will increase the state’s revenue and employment generation and provide a 5 per cent additional pensioner allowance. During the cabinet meeting, an amendment to the Rajasthan Police Subordinate Services Rules, 1989, allowing a one-third quota for women in police has been approved and the notification will be soon issued by the Personnel Department, says Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Prem Chand Bairwa.
Deputy CM further added that the Rajasthan Cabinet has approved amending Rules 67 and 87 of the Rajasthan Civil Services Pension Rules, 1990 to include specially-abled children, dependent parents, and siblings in the Pension Payment Order. The cabinet also approved replacing Rule 54B of the rules following the CM's announcement of a 5 per cent additional allowance for pensioners aged 70-75 after discussion on the Rajasthan Appropriation and Finance Bill in the Assembly.
