A three-day program on Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao (BBBP) was inaugurated at the Government Degree College for Women in Kathua, aimed at raising awareness about gender equality through activities like poetry, music, skits, panel discussions, and felicitation of women achievers. The event was organized by the Social Welfare Department Kathua and attracted students, parents, faculty, and surrounding residents, featuring thought-provoking speeches, inspiring performances, and interactive sessions to promote women's empowerment.
The DC of Kathua, Rakesh Minhas inaugurated the event and stated the importance of empowering girls and women, emphasizing the significance of gender equality in sustainable development through the initiative Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao. He further highlighted the district administration's initiatives to educate and empower girls, ensuring they receive equal opportunities as boys.
The Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao program showcased women's achievements and resilience through numerous activities. The delegates including academicians and social workers participated in a panel discussion where they addressed the challenges women face in their education and workforce areas.
