20 Member Women's Hockey Team Selected for Upcoming Germany & Spain Tour

The 20-member Indian Women's Team was announced by Hockey India on Tuesday in advance of the team’s tour for Germany and Spain in support of the Hangzhou Asian Games.
Three-match Test series will be played between 16 July to 19 July. One match will be played against China and two against Germany by the Indian team, which is captained by goalkeeper Savita Punia.
The team's next tournament will be played in Spain, where the Indian team will take part in the 100th Anniversary International Tournament of the Spanish Hockey Federation, which will be held from 25 July to 30 July 2023. During the tournament in Terrassa, the Indian girls will compete against South Africa, England, and the Spanish hosts.
The Chief Coach of the Indian Women's Hockey Team, Janneke Schopman stated about the team's selection that, the tour for Spain and Germany is a great place to showcase the talent and skills of the Indian team and with this, they can continue to prepare for the upcoming Asian Games.
She is thrilled as the players are giving excellent performances and have been working hard to raise their game skills. She further added that both tours will be the ideal setting for the team to test themselves against strong competitors. The need to concentrate on upholding a solid sense of teamwork and carry forward the plans.
The tours will also be essential for the team for the upcoming Asian Games because they will provide insightful information and show that where the team needs to improve. "We must grow as a team and learn from each game" she continued.
