According to Emeritus India Impact Survey 2022, two out of every three women professionals felt empowered to resume their careers after a long break by gaining knowledge and training from the upskilling programmes.
Emeritus is a Global educational organization which provides professional training. They surveyed to find out how the professionals can stay job-secured and future-ready by participating in these programmes.
Few women get the opportunity to be promoted in their jobs rather than men who frequently get promoted in the same field, there is a barrier called a 'broken rug' which causes a hindrance in women's upliftment, a study by McKinsey & Company.
According to Emeritus India, women who move forward to learn these upliftment skills face fewer hindrances in their careers. About 82 per cent of women have seen a sudden growth in their careers after attending these programmes in just six months while 93 per cent said that they were more efficient at their workplaces after enrolling on a professional course.
Almost 79% of women advanced their careers in the organisations they work for, etc. These programmes have truly helped those women who want to restart their careers after a long break.
According to a poll, there was a visible growth seen in women's self-confidence after learning these skills. Women especially mothers at times face motherhood penalties (less paid than fathers) after a career break. By learning these programmes, they had a boost in self-confidence.
After the programme’s completion, 100% of the respondents claimed that they had an increase in self-confidence and growth in workplaces. These programmes helped in building up their business acumen (78%), advanced job security (71%), expanding the network (95%), developing skills (61%), and standing out in the job market (55%).
