11 Indian women from the country's defense forces have embarked on a groundbreaking global circumnavigation, delivering a strong message of empowerment and sea-faring ability. The Tri-Services all Women around the World Sailing Expedition puts the mettle and abilities of women in defense into focus as they sail tough seas from India to Seychelles and return—demonstrating that no target is out of reach.
In a first of its kind exhibition of Nari Shakti, eleven women officers of the Indian armed forces have embarked on a historic international sailing expedition. The Tri-Services All Women around the World Sailing Expedition is a shining example of both maritime prowess and the increasing role of women in India's defense forces.
Departing from Mumbai, the team—comprising the Army, Navy, and Air Force—will sail through some of the most demanding seas on the globe. Flagged off by Lt Gen A K Ramesh, the expedition is a turning point in India's maritime history.
Carefully selected through a competitive selection process, the officers received comprehensive training with master mentors. A journey beyond a mission, this symbolizes empowerment, overcoming societal boundaries and inspiring the next generation of women to blaze bold roads and unlimited opportunities.
