10 highlights from Draupadi Murmu's Speech Today

Draupadi Murmu gave her maiden speech to Parliament as president on Tuesday. She expressed her gratitude for selecting her as a stable government for two consecutive times in a row. She pressurized on the points about the various achievements that took place during the Modi-led government. The President addressed the nation in presence of both Houses during the Budget session. Mentioned below are some key points of her speech:
1) Draupadi started her speech by stating, We must create a country by 2047 that will be rooted with the greatness of the past with the finest chapters of modernity. We need to create an India that is "Aatmanirbhar" and should possess all its humanitarian duties."
2) President Draupadi mentioned the goal for India in the next 25 year's should be "one that will not have poverty, the middle-class people should be prosperous, the youth and women of India will stand at the front to show a path to society and the country with being two steps ahead of time.
3) She stated, "My India has taken major steps from abrogating Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir to the abolishment of Triple Talaq.
4) The Jal Jeevan Mission has been highlighted in the speech, which is providing piped water to approximately 11 crore families in three years. Speaking about the Tax refund, it is granted shortly after the income tax returns are filed. With this millions of people have received more than 27 lakh crore which kept them away from poverty. She also stated about the railway facilities, the first private satellite, and more.
5) "Garibi Hatao" is no longer a slogan anymore. She said the government is focusing on long-term solutions to poverty. They need to fulfill the aspirations of all Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, and Other Backward Classes.
6) 500 blocks have been identified in the nation for the program of "aspirational districts." The development of villages in broader areas has been introduced for the "vibrant villages" program.
7) She also mentioned the new programs that have been initiated to empower women like 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao'. For the first time in the nation, there are more women than men with the improvement of health in women.
8) As per the newly launched initiatives, defense exports have increased six times. The first indigenous aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant, has also joined the Navy.
9) India has become a strong nation against terrorism which the world has witnessed. This is the reason, India has gained respect all over the world.
10) While concluding the speech, Draupadi started, "Amrit Kaal" which refers to the 25 years left to mark the 100th anniversary of India's Independence, this is the time to create an India that is "Aatmanirbhar" and fulfills its humanitarian duties.
