A financial literacy initiative for the organization’s delivery partners and store executives "Project Swabhimaan" was recently introduced by Dunzo which is one of the top hyperlocal and q-commerce organizations in India. The Parinaam Foundation which is a non-profit that works with urban low-income communities, is a partner in the training program.
Women who will participate in this initiative will be provided with training in making financial decisions available to them. This initiative will help to improve their financial situation, regardless of whether they work at Dunzo or not shortly.
Ankit Shah, AVP, of City and Supply Operations, at Dunzo, stated that, At Dunzo, they place a high priority on the general well-being of the female store executives and the delivery partners. This mentorship program will help them in their future. Financial literacy is an important subject for every employee and should be implemented for all. This training will provide fair wages and also give them the knowledge that is required to create a habit of savings and making money.
Dunzo will implement knowledge to more than 100 women by 2023. It will also develop some important training for all its partners as a part of their onboarding sessions.
Independent workers and those people who work in organized and unorganized sectors do not receive the same support and training as those workers in the private sector, especially when it comes to financial inclusion and literacy. As this initiative is also a part of the Parinaam Foundation, this is an effort to increase financial inclusion among Gig economy workers. Since 2012, around 9,27,005 participants have received certification as Rupee Rani (Women) by the Parinaam Foundation.
