Take us through your early educational journey and prior industry experience that you bring to the table. What business lessons did you learn in your prior industry experience that is still a part of your approach to leadership?
I am an engineering graduate, and being my parents' only child, they wanted me to first settle in a good household before starting work. I got married at the age of 21 not long after graduating. Then I worked as a Human Resource Executive for an organizations in Bangalore. In 2014, I started my first job as a career consultant, and after a year, I moved on to another job in the Overseas Immigration and Education arena. I am a Certified Counselor from a reputed Canadian institute. I enjoyed my position since it required me to deal with a large number of applications from candidates seeking employment, permanent residence and education in Canada and Australia.
My previous industrial experience has taught me the importance of maintaining work consistency. I never stop learning since I am constantly broadening my skill set. My experience also taught me to be goal-oriented. Throughout the course of one’s life we will have to confront numerous challenges, however, face them with a positive attitude by presenting yourself bravely to the world.
Throw some light on the various roles and responsibilities that your current role as the Managing Director entails at Edu4World. What business challenges do you face in your current role?
Being the Founder and Managing Director of Edu4World is a tough challenge, and I regard it as a high responsibility position. Because it is my dream project, I would give my heart and soul to accomplish the goals I have set for my organization. Everything that happens in my organization is completely under my control. I've handled everything from marketing to team building, training my staff, sharing my knowledge and learning from them. I believe in fostering a friendly atmosphere. I also believe that having a work-life balance allows us to accomplish our objectives without feeling pressured.
“Throughout the course of one’s life we will have to confront numerous challenges, however, face them with a positive attitude by presenting yourself bravely to the world”
I founded Edu4World in 2020, and the toughest challenges I had to face were in recruiting employees who possessed competencies and appropriate abilities. Another challenge I had was engaging with potential customers while adhering to a budget because it sometimes cost us more than I anticipated.
Investing in the proper platform was one of the most significant milestones I've encountered. The early days were more of a trial and error procedure. We don't know when or how the market will alter. We were on the right track after some research and experience.
It’s been a roller coaster journey so far. I've learned a lot and I continue learning how to work with the flow in the business.
In your opinion what has been the driving force behind your successful stint as a business leader? Tell us about some of the key leadership mantras or philosophies that you follow.
My father and grandparents were both weavers, and I've been fascinated by the process since I was a child. I'd always wanted to do something different, despite coming from a business family, but it was all in my brain. I would never have discussed anything with my family before. I met my mentor SpoorthiVishwas in an online community meet up during my corporate career and attended one of her self-development workshops. I’m immensely grateful to my mentor for assisting me in determining what I truly desire in life. When I first started my Entrepreneurship Certification, it was a tremendous change for me. That gave me the appropriate road map, and she encouraged that - Don’t just be a goal setter “BE A GOAL DIGGER”. This phrase stayed with me, and I started working on it. Then I founded Edu4World with the aid of my mentor and family.
As successful business leaders, what would your advice be to young women aspiring to become business leaders and entrepreneurs in the future?
My advice to young women would be to be focused and consistent. Explore what is around that can be beneficial in achieving your goal. Do not wait for the perfect time to begin because there is none. Don't be afraid to take a step forward. Accept life's changes with open arms. Ponder less and work more since overthinking can lead to skepticism.
