Can you highlight the key areas of expertise you've developed in your role as an operations professional?

In my role as an Operations Manager, I've honed several key areas of expertise. Foremost among them is the ability to integrate insights from the past, present, and future of the business into a cohesive vision. This perspective is essential for guiding the organization and ensuring that lessons from the past, current competitive strategies, and future growth plans are aligned.

Managing an organization involves more than just adhering to an operations manual. Effective human resource management and cultivating an inclusive culture where every employee and partner feels valued are critical. A crucial lesson I've learned is to continually push beyond the ordinary and strive for excellence. To lead effectively, it's essential to not only meet but exceed the highest standards, fostering a culture within the team that relentlessly pursues top-tier performance.

Please introduce us to BRAVE Combat Federation and outline your key responsibilities as the company's COO.

BRAVE Combat Federation was established with a vision to transform the MMA industry. Our mission is to shift from an event-centric model to a sports-focused approach, aiming to enhance the combat sports scene in the MENA region and offer opportunities to talented athletes globally.

Currently, BRAVE CF stands as the most global MMA organization, hosting events in 33 countries across five continents.

As the COO, I work closely with the CEO to implement and oversee the organization’s strategic plans. Drawing on my international experience, I have built a dedicated team to develop global partnerships in key MMA markets. Since our inaugural event in 2016, we have pioneered a global tour culture, setting numerous world and continental records.

My role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including event management, partnership development, strategic planning, and global operations management. Additionally, I oversee operations for the KHK Sports conglomerate, advising the KHK Heroes Foundation and KHK Media group on strategic initiatives and operational enhancements.

Through these efforts, I am committed to advancing BRAVE CF's mission and ensuring our continued growth and influence on the global MMA stage.

What do you consider to be some of the most critical challenges in your current role, and how do you address these obstacles?

One major challenge was launching an MMA promotion in Bahrain, where the sport was largely unknown and the sports economy was still in its infancy. To tackle this, I adopted a 'think globally, act locally' approach, forging international partnerships and highlighting the region's future potential. This strategy laid a strong foundation for growth despite the initial difficulties.

Another significant challenge was globalizing the brand. Adapting to the cultural nuances and sports traditions of different regions was essential. By leveraging the universal appeal of sports and collaborating with passionate individuals worldwide who shared our vision, we successfully established and expanded the brand, overcoming the initial hurdles.

Can you shed light on the most significant professional milestones you've achieved throughout your career? Additionally, what has been your success mantra over the years?

As COO of KHK Sports and BRAVE Combat Federation (BRAVE CF), I have achieved significant milestones reflecting both personal and organizational growth. At KHK Sports, I was instrumental in expanding our teams into over 10 different sports from 2014 to 2016, establishing us as the largest sports consultants in the Middle East. We hosted three consecutive IMMAF World Championships from 2017 to 2019 and introduced the MMA Super Cup Competition, setting new records. Our efforts led to our MMA team being ranked number one globally, and KHK boxing and wrestling represented Bahrain at the Olympics.

At BRAVE CF, I helped grow the organization to a valuation of $600 million, with ambitions to become Bahrain's first sports Unicorn. We have expanded globally, hosting events in 33 countries across five continents, and formed partnerships with several international governing bodies in combat sports.

My success mantra involves self-belief, decisive action, and learning from results. This approach defines what it means to be BRAVE.

How do you envision the future of women’s representation in top leadership roles in the Middle East?

Over the past decade, we've seen a significant rise in women securing top leadership positions in the region, and this positive trend is set to continue. Increased awareness and recognition of their achievements are inspiring more women to pursue leadership roles across various industries. Furthermore, initiatives and platforms that highlight and support women leaders are essential for driving this progress.

I am optimistic that as we continue to break down barriers and create more opportunities, we will witness even greater female representation in influential roles, fostering progress and innovation throughout the region.

Advice for aspiring women entrepreneurs and business leaders:

Believe in yourself and recognize that the world needs your unique contributions. Work hard and stay committed, as dedication and consistency are crucial for turning your vision into reality. Embrace courage and resilience. There is nothing beyond your reach, so don’t let anyone convince you otherwise. Be BRAVE.
