Tell us about your background and the unique feature of the firm.

I grew up in Bhubaneswar. My father was a well-known doctor. Initially, I was keen on studying medicine, but destiny had other plans for me and I landed up studying Journalism and Mass Communication at Symbiosis. After passing out I took up a job with an advertising agency in Pune. Later I migrated to Mumbai and joined Lintas where I worked for over a decade. My last job was at Starcom where I was the Business Development Head. That's when I decided to start my own company, Thinktank and since then I have been on my own.

Throw some light on the Education background and Pre-industry Experience.

I started my schooling in Orissa I finished my graduation in the same state.. Gradually I moved to symbiosis institute of mass communication for my higher studies specializing in advertisement and public relations. The amount of exposure and learning during my post-graduation gave me the confidence to work in the firm to understand how the media market works on a real-time basis. Immediately I joined an advertising firm and worked there for solid 8 years. Having equipped with the market understanding I moved to Africa and invested my time and energy into a similar field and worked for two years. My professional journey continued with star com where I learned the principles of media management and many other professional qualities which I still apply in my business.

"The professional relationship gradually acts as a marketing tool for private entities"

What was the motive behind venturing out of your own company, and what was the underlying idea behind the company?

I was very clear about two things. I wanted to work for large Media firms to experience the scale and to build my relationship with the ecosystem. Therefore, doing a job was like building my foundation. I got to work on large budgets and big brands. However, the work was specialized and focused. I realized that Print and TV were what I was becoming a master of, but the world was changing. Digital, Mobile, and Innovation were getting popular, and I was keen to be part of this action. Also, the ecosystem was conducive for Start-Ups. Big brands were open to working with smaller firms. Therefore, I stepped out of the corporate job and started Thinktank

What are the plans that you are setting up for the growth of the company?

In my entrepreneurial journey, I have understood that changes are an integral part of human life. Concerning that Think tank also encourages changes in its business ideas and approaches for a wide variety of clients. In the upcoming days, we are corporatizing Thinktank with well cutting-edge technologies in our overall functionalities. Gradually building a strong team of media specialists to deal with multiple solutions and eventually Thinktank is planning to venture into event marketing and the creation of Intellectual property (IP) for clients.

what would you advise for the women as well as the younger generation who are aspiring to foray into this Indian business landscape?

First and foremost we should no longer feel that women are any different that the ecosystem is very democratic and that women enjoy equal opportunities. To think that we are women and need special assistance itself is the biggest challenge we must overcome. In my opinion, as far as the new generation is concerned, one must understand we are now not in a Corporate Ecosystem but an Enterprise Ecosystem. Unfortunately, one does not have the privilege of long gestation and learning period. Now women must hit the road running hence the new generation needs to be quick learners, extremely adaptable, and highly Accountable
