Can you describe your early education and prior industry experience?
I have a diverse educational and industry background that has given me a unique and strategic approach to my work. I hold double MBA degrees in IT & HR and have a background in Web Visualization. I'm a certified life coach and image consultant and have completed 16 certification courses over the past 16 years, ranging from Art Therapy to Reducing Carbon Footprint. Additionally, I’m a certified entrepreneur from ISB, sponsored by Goldman Sachs under the Women entrepreneurs empowerment program. In terms of my industry experience, I have over two decades of experience in technology, web development, and handloom textiles. In 2005, I established Arete Technologies, which provides technology solutions to businesses. I'm also a partner at The Green Studio, a handloom hub that procures hand-woven fabrics from interior villages in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to convert them into ready-to-wear garments, benefiting local weavers. Additionally, I work closely with Shrunkhala, an upcoming NGO in Maharashtra, and am the Maharashtra State President of the Image Consultancy Wing of WICCI.
What led you to establish The Story Docks, and how does the company help its clients in content marketing?
I founded The Story Docks as a way to help businesses tell their stories in a compelling way through custom content marketing strategies. As a lover of storytelling and marketing, I saw a gap between clients and digital agencies and started this agency to bridge the gap. We work closely with clients to develop personalized content strategies that target their audience, create engaging content, and use advanced analytics and reporting tools to track campaign success and make data-driven decisions.
Tell us about your other ventures (Arete Technologies, The Green Studio), and how they contribute to society.
Story Docks is a vertical under the Docks group. Under the Docks group I have three verticals, the digital Docks to cater to IT application development for web and mobile, the Edu Docks to cater to the training, mentoring and coaching needs of leaders and Entrepreneurs, and last, Story Docks, engaged in storytelling, branding and digital marketing. In addition to The Story Docks, I am the founder and CEO of Arete Technologies, a technology solutions provider established in 2005. I am also a founding partner of The Green Studio, a handloom hub that procures handwoven fabrics from interior villages in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to create ready-to-wear garments for the benefit of weavers. Furthermore, as a founding member of Shrunkhala, an NGO in Maharashtra, I head the Dreamweaver Vertical, designing and delivering appropriate programs to empower aspiring and rural women entrepreneurs. I am also the Maharashtra State President of the Image Consultancy wing of WICCI.
What are the significant challenges you face as a content strategist, and how do you overcome them?
As a content strategist, I encounter various obstacles that can impact the success of a project or campaign. One of the most significant hurdles is comprehending the audience and generating content that connects with them, necessitating in-depth research and analysis of consumer behavior and preferences. Another challenge is keeping up with the constantly changing digital landscape and new trends in content marketing. It is essential to remain ahead of the curve and adapt to the latest technologies and platforms to ensure that clients remain relevant in their industry. Time management is also a critical issue, as handling multiple projects simultaneously and ensuring each one receives adequate attention and resources can be a daunting task. However, prioritizing tasks, setting practical timelines, and delegating responsibilities to the team can help overcome this challenge.

Additionally, aligning the content strategy with the client's overall business objectives can be challenging. It is critical to ensure that the content strategy aligns with the brand's values and mission and ultimately drives tangible results. To overcome these obstacles, collaboration, and communication with the team and clients are crucial. By understanding their needs and expectations, effective content strategies that deliver results can be created. Lastly, staying informed about the latest industry trends and best practices ensures that innovative and effective solutions are always provided to clients.
