What Are Some Important Features Of Your Educational And Professional Life?
I started my career in software development after completing engineering at DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology. Eventually, I decided to pursue a Management Program in Sales and Marketing. Fortunately, IIM Lucknow became the novel podium that paved the path to the career I am cherishing today. Following the executive program, I embarked on my professional journey in IT sales and business development.
A comprehensive experience of over 7 years in the corporate sector taught me a lot. This exposure helped me bring a new perspective to the business and introduce our products to new buyers. Although I was working as an employee, I always wanted to start my own business. Holding on to the aspiration, I started a B2B portal 'TrainerGenie', which connects companies with corporate trainers, and ran it for 2 years before joining my family business.
Give Us A Brief Overview Of Vimaljonney. What Difference Did You Bring In The Brand’s Outlook?
VimalJonney is a 47 years old brand that was started by my father. The company covers the entire range of innerwear and loungewear garments, which are manufactured in-house, in our factory. We have been available on all eCommerce marketplaces for over seven years now. Over the years, we have evolved from an offline innerwear brand to a D2C brand offering a wide range of garments.
As an IT sales professional, it was my responsibility to cover the entire sales cycle starting from lead generation to closure. After joining the business, I headed the Ecommerce department and onboarded our brand to 12 eCommerce marketplaces to generate revenues, and built a successful D2C brand VimalJonney from scratch. I also onboarded our products on Indiamart and Get distributors. com, and we get good sales through wholesalers and distributors. We could clock sales of 50 crores in FY- 2021-22, which includes both online and offline channel sales.

Tell us about some of the key business philosophies or leadership ideologies that you leverage as a business leader to ensure organizational success.
I strongly believe that leadership comes with managing the business on a daily basis. One principle that has worked for me is building a team and delegating the less critical tasks to the team. Nonetheless, creating a healthy work culture in the organization is important.
What Have Been Some Of The Most Significant Milestones That You Have Achieved So Far? What Has Been The Driving Force Behind Your Success As A Business Leader?
The most significant milestone I have achieved in my professional journey has been catapulting the brand from an innerwear offline brand that was in losses to a successful D2C brand. The driving force behind my success has been to support my father and prove to him that success can be achieved with the right use of technology.
What Would Your Advice Be To Young Women And Girls Who Also Aspire To Become Business Leaders And Entrepreneurs In The Future?
Gender diversity is drastically evolving in workplaces, and society’s mentality about working women is changing. There is no such thing that is unachievable; you just need to believe in yourself. Even if you have an idea, just build an MVP and launch it. If your startup has traction and brings sales after the marketing efforts, many people would be open to investing in your business.
