Discuss your previous industry experience and how it contributes to your effectiveness as a leader today.
In my current role as the Head of Digital Business at Mcredit, my prior professional background has provided me with valuable insights and skills. Specifically, my experience at Techcombank and VIB has equipped me with a strong foundation in financial business. Additionally, I had the privilege of being selected as one of the three top leaders from VIB to participate in the prestigious Executive Development Program for Young Asian Leaders, conducted by the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) in 2010. The year-long course was led by executive training experts from CBA and took place in Hong Kong and Shanghai. Furthermore, in 2008, I was chosen as one of the twenty top leaders from Techcombank to attend the inaugural Executive Development Program facilitated by HSBC experts. These formative experiences have enhanced my leadership abilities and prepared me for the challenges I face today.
Provide us with an overview of Mcredit and outline the key responsibilities you hold as the Head of Digital Business.
Mcredit is a company that I would like to introduce, and as the Head of Digital Business, I have significant responsibilities in shaping its digital business. My main areas of accountability encompass devising and executing the digital business development strategy. This involves tasks such as identifying the opportunities to accelerate growth, phasing the development roadmap over the years, designing end–to–end digital products, and managing digital customer experience across various digital platforms, with a primary focus on the Mcredit App. Additionally, I am responsible for driving customer growth and monetization, managing revenue and profit and loss, and overseeing the development of the Mcredit App.
What are some of the critical challenges you encounter as a digital business leader and what steps do you undertake to overcome these roadblocks?
As a digital business leader in today's business climate, I face several critical challenges. Firstly, transitioning from a marketing background to managing an independent P&L for a large company like Mcredit poses initial difficulties. Secondly, balancing traditional business models with the demands of the digital landscape requires careful consideration. Additionally, acquiring industry-specific knowledge in risk management is essential for success. Lastly, identifying opportunities for accelerated growth and staying ahead of competitors is crucial. To overcome these challenges, I have leveraged my marketing expertise put in to use – Prioritizing customers' needs and interests in all product-related decisions, operation flow, and more, in order to best serve customers' experience. Besides that, I adapt and evolve, stay informed about industry trends, and maintain a proactive and strategic mindset.
Example: The current process of Mcredit is designed based on traditional micro lending, it makes sense on its own with the offline process. We started to build a fully digital lending platform from May 2022 till now with an end-to-end process following the customer journey from loan application, onboarding, accepting offers, verifying and receiving money, debt payment, and customer loyalty.

Share with us the three significant professional milestones you have accomplished throughout your career journey.
Throughout my professional journey, I have achieved three significant milestones. Firstly, I played a key role in the successful merger and acquisition of Nettra to Viettel retail store. Secondly, I led a successful rebranding project for Techcombank and executed effective marketing campaigns. Lastly, as a member of the Exco committee at VIB, I consistently achieved business KPIs, led a successful rebranding initiative, and significantly improved brand awareness and customer satisfaction. These milestones highlight my expertise in mergers and acquisitions, rebranding, and achieving business objectives while enhancing brand perception and customer loyalty.
What is your success mantra as a business leader?
As a business leader, my success mantra revolves around a simple formula for achieving success. It consists of two essential steps: learning culture and adapting to change. By embracing these principles, I believe I can effectively navigate the complexities of the business world and drive positive outcomes for my organization.
How do you foresee digital trends evolving going forward? What steps must organizations take to future-proof themselves?
The future of digital trends involves a shift towards full and wholly digital business operations rather than just digitalization. Organizations must go beyond paperless and data analytics, focusing on end-to-end digital transformation. Digital operation is the key to ensuring customer experience, and processes run seamlessly. Bridging the gap in digital experiences, especially in customer-facing industries like lending, is essential. This requires a comprehensive process of transforming both the business and customer mindset. Additionally, organizations must make significant IT investments to redesign infrastructure for digital business development requirements adapt to the evolving digital landscape, and achieve sustainable business growth.
