Tell Us A Little About Your Education And The Experiences That You Have Gained In Your Prolonged Professional Career Until Now?

I completed my B.Sc in Economics and Mathematics and then went for MBA in international business and marketing. Apart from this, I have two licenses as investment planning specialist and estate planning specialist as a part of my CFP (Certified Financial Planner) journey and looking forward to that credential. I started my career with BILT i.e Ballarpur Industries, where I was taking care of the entire executive stationery group of BILT and handled a portfolio of 753 products. I was also involved in the process of brand building for BILT in their own retail stores P3 also known as Paper Print Pens and multi-brand outlets all across the country. After that I accepted the position of Marketing Manager for JLL for Property and Asset Management - North, where I worked for two years after which I got another opportunity in a real estate firm IREO, again as Marketing Manager for Punjab & Haryana. Simultaneously, I was also working as a guest lecturer of Integrated marketing and brand communications and also ran Management Development Programs in Chitkara University, Chandigarh.

At the same time, I also provided freelance consultancy services to many start-ups in and around Chandigarh and NCR region. Soon after, I got the opportunity to join White Pixels that was taking care of marketing and campaigning for Punjab elections for Akali Dal. With them, I was associated for 3-4 years until I joined Dreams to Reality which was a digital marketing and event management agency where my responsibility was to strategize the whole company’s progress and how to pitch clients and build brands from scratch. Very recently, I was involved with brand building for Kroop AI on contractual basis.

What Expertise Do You Bring To The Table As A Business Leader? Also Tell Us About The Experience That You Have Gained Throughout Your Career.

As a person with experience in this field, I am well aware as how to place brands and how to position them in the market. I can provide very clear strategies in terms of expansion of a brand into different segments and demographics. However, the biggest challenge I have right now is to get people more satisfied in terms of business conversations. It is because when you reach out to Founders, CXOs, and all the higher ups, higher up in the industry, you need to be more amicable in attitude and well thought approach. Getting through to people of various sects has been a great learning experience for me.

"I have the acumen and the understanding on how different Industries work because creating strategy is Not specific to a particular industry. Strategies are Concentrated on product and vision of the company"

Industries that I have worked with, in over the years have been built on brand management and corporate liasoning, which has helped me a great deal. I think I have the acumen and the understanding on how different industries work because creating strategy is not specific to a particular industry. Strategies are concentrated on product and vision of the company. This is why I want to concentrate more on consultancy and achieve better goals in it.

Tell Us About The Professional Milestones That You Have Achieved Over Time And Also Elaborate On How You Are Aware Of The Latest Trends In The Market.

At a very young age, I was given the responsibility to handle big product lines that was to hit the market. After that, I have done various freelance consulting work which has made me aware of all the changes as well as challenges in different sectors that are happening in the market. This included emerging startups and the growing e-Commerce acceptance in the country. I have had very strong shifting points in my career that has helped me become who I am and I feel that with the experience that I have gained, I can see myself as a growth leader in terms of CEO or CXO sometime in the future.

What Is Your Message For The Women Entrepreneurs And The Potential Women Entrepreneurs Of The Country As An Industry Veteran?

I would give a shout out to people who are encouraging women to get to their careers post-sabbatical (irrespective of the reasons for the break) and would encourage more people to come forward in providing opportunities, rather than using it as a means to bring down their morale and compensations. Request each and every one not to give up on their dreams no matter what, one should focus on their career goals despite family commitments. I am Soldier’s daughter, a soldier’s wife and mother of twin boys. That is also my responsibility but that doesn’t mean that I should give up on my career goals. Pave path for yourself and uplift others as well. We all have different struggles, don’t get bogged down and keep progressing.
