Driven by a large and growing population, the Government of India fosters a digital economy of over $1 trillion. The culture of entrepreneurship and the thriving tech industry in India has created a pathway to help build metaverse products and extended universes. Though the concept of metaverse is new, extended reality (XR) – a combination of augmented, virtual and mixed reality are accessible in real time. In addition, blockchain technology is presently expected to play a major role in building the metaverse. This environment is bolstered by a set of favorable consumer trends, including rising disposable income, increasing smartphone adoption and affordable mobile data.

As per the market estimates published in DQ India, the metaverse industry in India is expected to grow at an impressive CAGR of 37.1 percent and touch a whopping $758 billion by the end of 2026. India currently ranks at the 5th position on the list of top nations driving the metaverse market. Headquartered in Hyderabad, Jupiter Meta is an example of one such company revolutionizing metaverse and extended reality in India.

The team at Jupiter Meta has a deep understanding of Web 3.0 and wish to continually leverage the same to help solve business problems. Jupiter Meta was conceived by Sathyan Rajan and Manasa Rajan to leverage the various technologies that web 3.0 has to offer.

In an exclusive interview with Women Entrepreneur, Manasa gives us an insight on her journey that led to Jupiter Meta. Let’s hear from her.

Take us through your early educational journey and your expertise as a business leader.

For me, school was more of an education through exploration. I came from an Army background, attended over 10 different schools and traveled across the country more times than I can remember. In this exploration, I realized that I had the ability to closely observe and experience the world through the eyes of vastly different groups of people - a means to understand exactly what motivated human beings to make the decisions they did.

Eventually, I completed an MBA in marketing and finance and went on to study nutrition from Stony Brook and Cornell, but my formative years journeying through India gave me, what I believe is my most integral skill set - an understanding of how humans behave, of how consumers behave.

My exposure to different cultures helped me understand how people showed emotion, how their attitude, and preferences affect buying behavior.

Post my experiences at Eatfit, I decided to explore Web 3.0 technology and understand its role in determining consumer behavior, because Web 3.0 and its iterative technologies offered so much more to consumers than most other industries ever did.

Throw some light on the different responsibilities you shoulder as the CEO of Jupiter Meta.

My primary responsibility is to drive business growth and create mass adoption across industries; by building use cases, identifying problems and solving them using the technologies available in this space. It has been challenging driving adoption of a technology that has been somewhat misrepresented, misunderstood and misjudged. However, the real test of our mettle, has been surviving through a time when our entire industry ecosystem faced serious turbulence.

My role involves navigating the turbulence but it’s also about bringing in and nurturing a high performing team, ensuring alignment with the objectives of the company.

Introduce us to the digital transformation solutions that Jupiter Meta offers to its customers?

We are a metaverse, AR/XR and web3.0 company, providing strategic solutions that utilise gamification and tokenomics. We use Tokenomics, Blockchain and Metaverse Applications to help organizations achieve their goals, faster and more efficiently.

Web3.0 and Meta tech are the next frontier in Digital Product Experiences, Customer Engagement, Employee Onboarding and Brand Building - and we believe that harnessing them properly will enable businesses to realise far greater potential.

Our Metaverse as a Service enables immediate access to immersive virtual experiences. A testing ground for brands to understand the potential of what XR has to offer. Our metaverse solutioning will open windows to immersive worlds, engagement, community building and value creation.

Further, our Web 3.0 helps harness the power of decentralization, token economics and blockchain services to build for the future! We use token architecture to recognize unique attributes and intellectual property, in order to create rules, structure & enhanced monetization around the use & access of any piece of content ever created.

Currently, we are also allies/strategic partners to the Retail industry and are working deeply within this industry across several categories like food, fashion, home furnishings, entertainment, and more, to help improve product experience and create customer engagement through XR and metaverse implementations. AR experiences can add a realm of creative elements, immersiveness and also solve specific customer needs.

Tell us about some of the key milestones you have achieved throughout your professional journey?

I have worked across different industries, with some extremely interesting people, yet the underlying theme has always been the same - how can we serve our consumers better?

I have enjoyed every leg of my career, but with Jupiter Meta there have been many firsts. We were able to launch the world’s first NFT wall-art project for social change in Chennai. We also created awareness around the fact that Digital Tokens are a great vehicle for structured change. Second, my team and I were also able to build India’s first music NFTs for a singer named Karthik in Chennai, a campaign that went viral in 3 countries.

Third, the company also partnered with the circular economy board of Australia to promote their sustainable innovations at a global level, with the help of blockchain technology. A project that’s very close to my heart! And lastly, our rate of adoption has been the fastest among all metaverse companies in India, and our goal is to bring 10,000 businesses to this ecosystem.

What are the challenges you encounter and tell us how you overcome them?

One of the main challenges when it comes to Web 3.0 is that the tech is new, and what people perceive is limited. The challenge stems from a lack of understanding and we often have to break that barrier by helping businesses understand the potential of this space. We also need to constantly upgrade our solutions to ensure that we do not limit our platform or skill set.

Every time we bring in a new client, we commence with an extremely detailed pitch, targeted and well-suited to their needs. While there are a lot of pre-set mind blocks around Web 3.0, we not only educate but have a structured plan to break through that knowledge barrier.

Finally, we focus at least 20 percent of our bandwidth on understanding new technology and trends - constantly tracking and learning from what others are doing in this space and creating different avenues for products and solutions.

What advice would you give to young women who aspire to become business leaders?

Focus on your strengths and hone them to achieve the goals you have set for yourself. When we are young, we are often taught to improve on our weaknesses, but I believe we need to focus on our strengths to become truly invincible. Also, please be our own cheerleader - the only validation that matters is your own.
