Take us through your early educational journey and prior industry experience. What motivated you to venture into creating an organisation that specializes in personal development education courses?

I received my bachelor's degree in mass communication from Queensland University of Technology in Australia. International journalism, advertising, marketing, and public relations were my majors. After that, I moved to India and worked as a production assistant and director's assistant. Because of the film industry's instability, I then become a journalist, where I worked as a correspondent, senior features writer, Features Editor, and copywriter for an IT company. Later in my career, I was offered a position in business development. After working in the Indian journalism and IT industry for around 6 to 7 years, I returned to Australia to pursue my master's degree. I completed my MBA from Monash University and spent a year as a marketing lecturer at Deakin University. After that, I worked for a company named 24/7 Direct for over three years as a Marketing Communication & Content Creation Specialist.

Despite having a master's degree and years of experience, I felt I was underpaid, I wasn't even making $50,000 a year at the time because I did not have the proper visa. Despite the fact that I was receiving high-paying job offers, they would turn me down due to no work visa.

Even after several tries, the government refused to grant me a visa, so I felt Australia was not for me until I attended a conference in Melbourne in February 2020. The presentation was about a business opportunity where they would train you, offer all of the necessary materials, and most importantly, you wouldn't need a visa to work with them. Without a second thought, I registered my company Dream for Freedom in February 2020 and started building it. This changed my life; I decide on how much money I wanted to make and when I wanted to take time off; I was, in a sense, my own boss.

Covid began to hit the world in March 2020, and the world was becoming increasingly unstable. I was only concerned about my business. In May 2020, I earned my first $10,000 profit. In January 2021, I earned about $20,000 and in June, I earned $50,000 in a single month. All of this happened during the pandemic, when there were lockdowns and restrictions in place, and I was working from home. Then I realised I wasn't in need of a job anymore. This company was the best thing that could have happened to me.

Throw some light on the various roles and responsibilities that you currently shoulder at dream for freedom. What are some of the most challenging aspects of leading the organization? How do you overcome them?

When it comes to roles and responsibilities, I consider myself to be a one-man show. I'm in charge of sales, marketing, finances, budget, and pretty much whatever a company needs. Except for the accountant I recently hired, we don't have any staff. I've learned a lot by doing everything on my own.

Building a business in the midst of a pandemic and managing all aspects of it is a difficult task; to stay afloat, one must be mentally strong. Reading a lot of books and training my mind to believe that no matter what the situation is, I can solve it has really helped me stay mentally strong. The distribution of resources was the second biggest challenge I faced. The circumstances may have thrown numerous obstacles in my path, but I did my best and succeeded.

“Building a business in the midst of a pandemic and managing all aspects of it is a difficult task; to stay afloat, one must be mentally strong”

What are some of the most significant mile-stones that you have achieved so far as a business leader? What is your guiding leadership mantra?

Starting a business during Covid was the most remark-able milestone. The obvious second would be when I made my $50,000 profit in a single month. Even during the pandemic, staying consistent and profitable was a great accomplishment.

We have some excellent leaders in our company and I often seek their advice. Our company's owner is a true leader whom we look up to. He always talks about tak-ing ownership of our decisions. He says, "Go after what you want, have a vision, focus, and then believe that it's going to happen." We must believe that it has already happened, even before it happens. That's something called manifestation.

What would you advice women aspiring to become business leaders and entrepreneurs?

As women we must have immense courage. There will be days when you put in a lot of work but get no re-wards, and days when you don't put in any effort but get a greater return. As a result, one must have a long-term vision. In the next four years, my long-term goal is to become a millionaire in this industry. I'm 36 years old, and by the time I am 40, I hope to have made a million dollars and purchased my own property in Australia.

I would suggest that you must have a goal, but you must also understand that not every day will be smooth, but you must always keep going.
