The growing demand for economical and efficient solutions among firms to carry out business activities faster and increase operational efficiency is what is fueling the growth of the global ERP software market. This highly technical and competitive field has been predominantly known to be a 'man's world' and rarely has a woman been treated good enough to flourish in this industry despite her credentials. Krubashini Prasad, Director of Fintech at Uber-Careem, a UAE-based firm is changing the norms and overcoming prejudices by achieving soaring successes in her career. Through hard work, passion, determination, perseverance, and resilience, not only did she penetrate the industry, but has successfully established herself as a leader in it.
As a role model for the coming generations, Krubashini has a distinctive drive to excel in all that she does. Here are some highlights from our interaction with her.
What are some important features of your expertise as a leader in ERP?
Through the extensive experience I have garnered over the years, I have developed my expertise in managing, architecting and delivering FinTech solutions, portfolio management of multiple projects and people, with expertise in Oracle Fusion Cloud solutions such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cash Management, Subledger Accounting Procurement and Supply Chain Management are some areas of my expertise.
Take us through your early educational journey and the prior industry experience that you bring to the table.
I pursued an MBA with a Finance concentration after completing my studies at Bharath University and obtaining a M.Sc. in Finance and Computer Applications. After this, I joined Oracle in India and was soon assigned as Project Lead in Dubai, UAE for a mullti-million real estate company. Moving out from Oracle, I joined Raqmiyat, UAE as a Project Lead for Fusion Financial Implementations but returned to Oracle shortly after assuming the the role of Functional Architect for Oracle Fusion Financials Cloud Suite. With my 3 years of extensive experience in designing and implementing enterprise applications, , I joined Uber-Careem as Head of ERP and was shortly promoted to the role of a Director of Fintech. Throughout my educational and professional journey, I have gained a lot of enriching experiences and grown manifold. My current duties include serving as the delivery teams' and support teams' leader and helping them, defining deliverables, and ensuring that executive leadership approves of suggested solutions for clients. Further, updating and overseeing the Fintech system to make sure it offers the organization the right business solutions and precise outcomes forms part of my responsibilities. All of my experiences and knowledge have made me capable of handling such crucial responsibilities which ultimately ensure a smooth flow of operations.
What are some of the most pressing challenges that you encounter as an ERP professional?
As the Head of Fintech Cloud Applications, my major roles and responsibilities include Managing and deliver Fintech projects, Project Management, Product Solution Design, Customer interaction, Presales & Product demo (POC) activities. In this regard, some of the major challenges include project budget management and predicting market risks, which is becoming a challenge recently given the ironically unpredictable nature of the world in general.

What are some of the most significant milestones that you have achieved throughout your professional journey?
The journey from completing my education in a highly technical field to obtaining a job in one of the top corporate firms, and successfully climbing the ladder to reach the position in which I am today is the most significant milestone. This field is dominated by males, and the capability to establish me in this arena has been a major milestone.
What are some requisites to create a successful and long-lasting career as a professional, especially in the Middle East?
As in every country, the most important factor in building a successful career is consistency, perseverance, adaptability, and upskilling. Take risks, learn things, keep upskilling yourself, and stay updated about your field. This will enable you will flourish as a professional anywhere in the world. Establish your skills and be determined to build your position.
