Tell us about your ventures Dr. Jadhav Hospital, Herbiage Food Products, and Sahyam Foundation, and how do you manage responsibilities at each of the organizations?
Dr. Jadhav Hospital, established in 2011 in Airoli, Navi Mumbai, has become a cornerstone of healthcare excellence in the region. Led by my husband, esteemed orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Shivraj Jadhav, the hospital boasts NABH certification and specializes in orthopaedic and gynaecological treatments. From joint replacements and trauma care to gynaecological diagnosis and deliveries, our hospital offers comprehensive medical services. Collaborations with specialist doctors and cashless Mediclaim facilities further ensure quality care accessible to all.
We got associated with Sahyam foundation in 2017, and later in 2021 took over the operations from the founders of the foundation. Initially assisting patients with financial constraints, the Foundation now aims to empower the medical community. Our 'Empowering Healing Hands' program, specifically the 'Doctor Sahayya' initiative which is launching in February 24, focuses on supporting aspiring doctors with a medical library, workshops, and educational programs, aiming to create a collaborative and knowledgeable medical community.
Additionally, we ventured into Herbiage Food Products, crafting 14 preservative-free instant premixes catering to modern lifestyles. From Poha to Multigrain Parathas, these premixes offer convenience without compromising on health. Our manufacturing facility in Rabale, Navi Mumbai, ensures quality, and we're expanding our reach through outlets and a franchise model, eyeing international markets.
While managing these ventures, my day starts with patient consultations at Dr. Jadhav Hospital. As the day progresses, I oversee operations, manage accounts, conduct training, and make crucial decisions across all organizations. At Herbiage, I focus on the production line's hygiene, while operational and marketing aspects are handled by experts in those fields.
Together, these ventures have generated 50 job opportunities, highlighting our commitment not only to healthcare and food quality but also community economic growth. With a vision to expand globally and continuously innovate, we strive to offer accessible, high-quality healthcare and wholesome food solutions while contributing positively to society.
My vision revolves around dedicating more efforts to societal development, showcasing the fusion of healthcare & entrepreneurship for community betterment
Throw some light on your educational background. What led you to foray into the field of healthcare?
My educational journey commenced with a childhood fascination for medicine, fueled by family influence and admiration for the noble role doctors play. Inspired by this, I pursued a Bachelor's in Ayurvedic Medicine & Science from Yashwantrao Medical College and later a Diploma in Gynaecology & Obstetrics from Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital and College. Initially driven to become a doctor, my path evolved into merging medicine with entrepreneurship, emphasizing social welfare. Transitioning beyond conventional medical practice, I ventured into entrepreneurship, aiming to contribute meaningfully to society. My vision now revolves around dedicating more efforts to societal development, showcasing the fusion of healthcare and entrepreneurship for community betterment.
Take us through the different junctures of your professional journey. How did entrepreneurship happen to you?
My professional journey began in 2006 as a junior doctor at MGM Hospital in Vashi, Navi Mumbai, where I eagerly sought experience and career advancement. Encouraged by colleagues, I pursued a Diploma in Gynaecology & Obstetrics (DGO) that broadened my professional horizons. A turning point came when Dr. Kapadia, overseeing the hospital, saw my dedication and urged me to collaborate with a nursing home in a slum area, initially met with hesitation but eventually embraced due to Dr. Kapadia's influence.
Working at Jafri Trust Hospital in the slum, I gained real-world experience under Saroj Madam's guidance, handling patient consultations, operations, finances, and more. This exposure deepened my understanding of underprivileged communities' healthcare challenges, inspiring the establishment of Dr. Jadhav Hospital in 2011 with my husband, Dr. Shivraj Jadhav. Our goal was to provide quality healthcare affordably.
The courage to start our hospital stemmed from experiences at Jafri Trust Hospital and encouragement from influential mentors like Dr. Kapadia and Saroj Madam. My father, Rangnath Chavan, a successful trader, served as my ultimate inspiration, instilling a strong work ethic and supporting my entrepreneurial endeavors, shaping my journey to become an entrepreneur committed to accessible healthcare.
Tell us about the most significant milestones you have achieved throughout your professional journey so far?
My professional journey holds numerous significant milestones, among which Sahyam Foundation stands out prominently. It symbolizes an emotionally resonant and deeply satisfying initiative, reflecting my heartfelt commitment to societal betterment. While rooted in medicine initially, a substantial part of my efforts has been dedicated to uplifting society. Dr. Jadhav Hospital's inception and the foray into Herbiage Food Products have been driven by the profound inspiration drawn from people's narratives. Sahyam Foundation, however, is where my utmost dedication lies, aiming to create a lasting societal impact. I aspire not just to be remembered for my roles in healthcare and entrepreneurship but, more importantly, for the meaningful contributions made through Sahyam Foundation towards the betterment of society.
What are some key leadership philosophies or mantras that you incorporate in your work? In your opinion what is your secret to success?
My work philosophy revolves around perseverance and continual learning, prioritizing understanding from the consumer's standpoint for a consumer-centric approach. I believe success arises from balancing work, family, and time management effectively within the 24-hour window.
