Dr. Cherry Chamria practising in Mumbai since 12 years helps her patients achieve their goals by councelling and guiding to maintain their optimum oral health. She also follows her passion of entrepreneurship through her online ecommerce business Online Dental Shopping by providing Dental materials to all Dentists Pan India.

After completing her post-graduation in Mumbai, Cherry went for a Microscopic Endodontics course at the UCLA School of Dentistry in the United States. Apart from being an expert implantologist and gum surgeon, Dr. Cherry proved herself a skilled entrepreneur. Tell us about your professional journey. What are the important features of expertise you would like to highlight?

Since I was a child, I've been watching my father, who was a highly respected, moral, and exceptional dentist. My father's clinic provided me with exposure, while I also finished my undergraduate and post-graduate degrees in Mumbai. I finished a hands-on Microscopic Endodontics course at the UCLA School of Dentistry in the US, to add to my experience. I witnessed him grow from having a single dental chair to building an empire with twelve Dental chairs and astounding on-site amenities. I count myself fortunate to have had numerous chances to work at his clinic and gain knowledge directly from the greatest.

I possess a great deal of love for what I do, and at my dental office, I strive to provide my patients with a thorough diagnosis and find solutions to their problems in the fewest number of appointments. We specialize in root canals, dental implants, and full mouth rehabilitation using the most up-to-date equipment available. I started Online Dental Shopping (ODS), an online B2B marketplace for dental practitioners and institutions, as a business owner. All Dentists PAN India will have access to a platform through ODS to compare costs and identify things they can't get from their current vendors. For the convenience of the dentist, we strive to offer all brands at the greatest pricing and with the finest customer care.

What was the underlying idea behind the inception of Online Dental Shopping?

I had my initial inspiration for Online Dental Shopping while I was an employee at my father's practice. I worked part-time during my residency, and my major duties were to ensure that things were delivered on schedule and purchase inventory. This routine task made me realize that a dentist must be on the other end to identify needs, gaps, and general ease of operating. I went from the inception of the idea to one order per week to currently receiving fifty or more orders per week. All of this occurred in the span of just two years, and I am happy to still have a long growth trajectory ahead of me.

What are the responsibilities you are handling as a founder? How do you deal with the challenges related to the role?

From procurement to negotiating to financial management and everything else in between, I am in control of all operations. Customer satisfaction has always been my first priority, and ODS is built around this idea. The major objective is to provide services with a personalized touch every time and to assist the dentist client throughout the entire process to guarantee total satisfaction.

Challenges are opportunities for growth and improvement, according to Online Dental Shopping. Our major problems include inventory management, logistics, returns, and delivery delays, which are quite normal for every retail operation. We're developing strategies over time to help them be fixed and improved upon, in order to be more effective.

What are the significant milestones that you have achieved throughout your professional journey? How do you keep yourself updated with the technological developments in your domain?

I am quite proud of my ability to balance the needs of my toddler while also managing my ODS business and a dental office. I continued to follow my passion and did not let any postpartum stress affect me. I began my dental practice and ODS business when she was just four months old. Apart from that, I'm really happy that I was able to finish a Microscopic Endodontics hands-on course at UCLA School of Dentistry in the United States. I read a lot of journals and blogs on new trends and current events to keep myself informed about the everevolving industry landscape.

What advice you would like to give to young girls and women who are aspiring to be future leaders in the field of healthcare?

I can only advise you to start as soon as possible, have faith in your gut, and take the leap of faith. You will find a path even though the beginning will be difficult. One industry that will always be relevant is healthcare, although it requires a lot of effort, compassion, and understanding. If you see yourself working in this profession, don't wait for a chance to present itself, instead create your own.
