Along With The Vision And Mission, Give Us A Brief Overview Of Divakar’s Speciality Hospital.

We have always intended to create a women-centric healthcare facility and established a center of excellence for the same in the city of Bengaluru called Divakar’s Speciality Hospital. It is entirely dedicated to the healthcare of the girls and women, as we believe in excellence in women's healthcare concept and our tagline is – ‘passion for quality care’. Our main mission is to offer care with quality, dignity, respect and safety and we are also into a lot of advocacy because we believe in creating awareness and empowering women with knowledge about themselves. Since the girls and women are currently exposed to the internet which is playing a key role in broadening their perspectives towards healthcare and hygiene, I am glad to provide them my second opinion whenever they approach me. I think it is good that they are empowering themselves with the knowledge to make their own decisions.

Highlight The Various Features/Facets Of The Institution And Its Work Culture That Make It A Distinctive Organization In The Country?

Doing a lot of research work both in urban and rural India, we have been instrumental in some policy changes with the Ministry of mental health and child care as well, and the training and capacity building is yet another additional prong. So, we've established another organization as well called ARTIST - Asian Research and Training Institute for Skill Transfer. Apart from our routine work in which every obstetrician and Gynecologists in this structured organization engages in cases delivering patients during the surgeries and post-operative care, we are also into an out of the bracket concept called the ART of women's healthcare, where ART stands for Advocacy, Research and Training. As an individual practitioner and an organizational leader, I want to reach out to thousands of women both on the national and international front.

What Are The Key Pointers Kept In Mind While Designing The Work Policies And Guidelines To Ensure An Efficient And Committed Workforce For Divakar’s Speciality Hospital?

As we are into women's healthcare space, the formation of a women-centric workforce was crafted by default. Based in the south of India, the women who come here to seek care and treatment will want all the touchpoints to be encountered ‘by the women for the women’ kind of concept. They would feel more comfortable if the staff are girls or women. We are not gender-biased and there are plenty of opportunities for male gynecologists to either learn with us in the fellowship programs or join us as associates and consultants. So given the fact that we have 40,000 gynecologists enrolled in our national organization, out of which 80 percent of the gynecologists in India are women. I think we have to stop compartmentalizing it, as every organization should give equal chance to men and women, and they both should be equally competent.

Is The Leadership Team Looking To Incorporate Any New Strategies To Make Divakar’s Speciality Hospital A Better Workspace For Its Women Employees Shortly?

Skill India mission is one of our main focuses, as we want to reach millions of girls and women in the country through it. We want to empower 1 million healthcare workers who can assist in safe deliveries across India. In a ripple effect we are scaling up because there is a huge flagship program called the Manyata: Don't forget moms, along with our initiative ARTIST. So, we are conducting digital training from Jammu Kashmir, Ludhiana, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, Imphal, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, to tribal areas like Ratlam and Jaipur. We have expanded into 13 states, all across Maharashtra as well, where we have staff nurses and teams from the hospitals taking the training on the digital platform with us. We are adhering to the standards which they have to maintain to ensure safe delivery with quality, respect and dignity. We have collaborated with the integrated health and wellness Council, where all the initiatives of the Indian government like Beti bachao Beti padhao, Anemia mukt Bharat, Poshan yukt Bharat, Pradhan mantri matrutwa suraksha yojna, menstrual health and hygiene and so on are integrated into lots of aspects of women's health care. We follow a proper curriculum-oriented course, bestowing the trainees with accreditation and certifications which has made a huge difference in the existing workforce.
