Tell us about your early education and the industry experience that you bring to the table. How does your prior experience empower you as a leader today?
I hold a BE in Chemical Engineering from the Institute of Chemical Technology and an MBA from Cambridge Judge Business School. I started my corporate journey in 2012 as an executive director at Prasol Chemicals, which was then the fastest-growing chemical manufacturing company in India. I then moved on to work as Sr. Category and Global Business Development Manager at Amazon and Unilever. My last job before HYUGALIFE was as a Director of Business Development at Prasol. Every experience and role has contributed to shaping the leader. While working for giants like Amazon and Unilever helped me understand operations and execution closely, while my role at Prasol helped me develop my leadership skills.
What inspired you to establish HYUGALIFE? Tell us about the idea behind the venture and its key areas of specialization.
HYUGALIFE is India's largest health and wellness vertical e-retailer platform, focused on offering authentic health products and educational content to consumers. The venture began with three ambitious individuals who shared the vision of creating a healthier and happier India. The platform's primary goal is to bridge the gap between health and wellness brand providers and information seekers, with a focus on going beyond basic e-commerce by partnering with brands to create a win-win situation for both consumers and businesses. Presently, the platform covers over 150 brands and 5000 products across health and wellness categories.
What are your primary responsibilities as the founder and CEO of HYUGALIFE? What are the key focus areas for driving the company's growth?
As an entrepreneur, you will have to take on the responsibilities of all the departments under your supervision, giving you an overview of all the activities and requiring you to provide direction and guidance as needed. Our platform, HYUGALIFE, is focused on achieving three key pillars, including providing short-form, easy-to-understand guidance to assist customers on their health and wellness journey, offering authentic products from trusted brands in the health and wellness industry, and creating an expert panel of key opinion leaders to enable digital interactions between customers for addressing their queries and doubts. These pillars will set us apart from other e-commerce platforms and significantly improve the customer buying experience.

What are the most significant challenges you face as an entrepreneur in today's times, and what strategies do you use to overcome these obstacles?
To be completely honest, I consider my professional journey thus far to be smooth and rewarding. Each opportunity I've encountered has contributed to my skillset and knowledge. My background in a business family has played a significant role in this, as it exposed me to various aspects of running a business and gave me the confidence to navigate the challenging business world. This confidence allowed me to approach challenges as opportunities for growth, and I've always learned either from success or failure. Reflecting on my journey, I believe that my focus on taking action and having the right attitude has helped me overcome any obstacles in my path.
What are the top three milestones you have achieved throughout your professional journey, and what is your mantra for success as a business leader?
Throughout my professional journey, I have achieved numerous milestones, but raising seed funding of $20,000 for my startup FITPERMIT at 22, going abroad to study for my MBA at Cambridge, and again stepping into the entrepreneur's shoes through HYUGALIFE were the most significant. My mantra for success as a business leader is to have the right attitude, be action-oriented, and view every challenge as a learning opportunity.
As a business leader with experience, what guidance or message would you offer to women who aspire to be leaders and entrepreneurs?
It's been a year since I became a female entrepreneur at HYUGALIFE, and it has been quite a ride. However, the excitement of creating a platform that assists our customers on their wellness journey is a unique thrill. Based on my experience, I would advise all aspiring women entrepreneurs to start their leadership journey with utmost confidence and self-belief. Because the fulfillment of witnessing your dream shaping itself is beyond words.
