In an interaction with the Women Entrepreneur Magazine team, Aida shares her professional journey of leading AR Brand Consulting and throws light on the evolving nature of the global marketing landscape. Here are a few excerpts from the conversation.
Introduce us to AR Brand Consulting and take us through the company’s foundation journey.
The idea that led to the establishment of AR Brand Consulting had started taking roots before the pandemic. But it was at the beginning of the pandemic when the actual execution began. It has been almost two years since the launch of the company.
We started as a consultant and influencer marketing agency and manage some of the top influencers in the market. Our services range from social media marketing to small scale event management. We also help small and medium businesses to make a mark in the market. AR Brand Consulting is the one-stop-shop for all marketing and communication needs.
I think it is vital for a leader to be aware of the facts, and discuss the ideas with the team. I always try to collect as much information as i can, as this is the only way in which you can stay relevant in the industry
what approach you take while working with a new client to ensure that their business requirements are met. What are the most challenging aspects of your current role? How do you counter them?
I believe that in today’s world, one should strongly focus on learning and researching. The field of marketing & communications demands that one must be aware of everything happening in the industry and should have a deep market knowledge. One should constantly listen and pay attention to his/her team and understand the client’s expectations and vision. Only then would they be able to deliver the best possible solutions to them. In my case, my experience while living in Canada, France and Morocco helped me to shape my career to a great extent.
Covid 19 has been the biggest challenge that I have had to face. But I managed to stay determined and conquer the difficulties posed by the pandemic. There is a need to take precautions for a long time but the tough situation is over. I have a beautiful team that has an amazing balance in terms of work. We represent several brands in Qatar and are proud of this fact. Managing different people is a challenge for me but I am learning to gain expertise in it.
What are some significant trends that you see developing in the marketing industry in the coming years? How do you keep yourself well aligned with the periodic evolutions occurring within the industry and the tech world?
I believe that change is the only constant in life. Nowadays, most of the changes occur in the field of social media. People have gradually given up on the habit of reading, therefore, video has emerged as an important tool to disperse information in any sector. Video-based content is one of the significant trends that would be highly appreciated and encouraged in the coming years.
One can either embrace or ignore the tech world. Embracing it ensures that you are parallel to the evolutions happening in the tech world. This helps one evolve and keeps you ahead of your competitors. In my case, I always research and try to be aware of everything that is happening around me. I think it is vital for a leader to be aware of the facts, and discuss the ideas with the team. I always try to collect as much information as I can, as this is the only way in which you can stay relevant in the industry.
How has your professional journey been so far? What have been some of the most significant milestones that you have earned throughout the years?
My professional journey has always been smooth sailing for which I owe gratitude to my parents and husband. They have always been my support system. I also had to deal with several ups and downs like anybody else does. There is no doubt that we all go through the conventional family or career dilemma at some point in our life. I also had to struggle to earn my place in the Qatar market. But I am proud of what I have achieved so far.
In my opinion, quality is appreciated more than quantity. The biggest satisfaction for me is when client comes back for more. This is when you know that you are doing the right thing and you keep going ahead.
As a successful professional with vast experience, what advice would you present to young women and girls who aspire to become business leaders in the future?
If a young girl has a goal in her mind, she must first believe in herself and her abilities. Patience is a critical asset and one should not rush to accomplish anything. It is okay to make mistakes as long as one learns from them. Keep working on your flaws and never underestimate the opportunities that come your way. Always explore them as they may turn your life around. I highly recommend young girls to use their common sense. Just be yourself and have fun as it is the only way to manage stress.
