Women's Employment on the Rise in Abu Dhabi Business Landscape

Gone are the days when the corporate world was solely a man’s playing field. Today, women are playing an equal role in the corporate world across the globe. The scenario is also changing in even the most traditionalist societies. For the longest time, traditions and societal restrictions hindered women from fully engaging in their country's economy and politics. But in recent years,women are joining the workforce in troves and are also moving towards selfemployment. The trend has significantly increased in Abu Dhabi, with women presently beginning new enterprises at a speedier pace than their male counterparts.
All across the country women's economic security is being recognised as being vital to their wellbeing and empowerment. According to a recent survey conducted by LinkedIn, while the pandemic has had negative impact on women’s success & participation at work, yet it has had somewhat of a positive impact on hiring of women in the UAE. The report said that women now constitute almost 37 percent of all new hires in the country, which is a 1.73 percent YoY increase.
