Women Need to Lean in & So Should the Organizations too

Leading from the front has always been the dream of every individual, but not all can do that and women have their own story of struggle. Especially in one of the most challenging industries, FMCG. It is said that women make nearly 14 percent of the entrepreneurs in India, we can understand how much we have to work to fix the existing gap in the numbers. However with that small number of women taking precedence across various industries performing better than their male counterparts, it is a realization that needs to settle down well with them.

However, unlike earlier times when only banks and IT companies were producing women leaders, today FMCG sector seems to take the turn. Whether it is sales, branding, product management, supply chain or product innovation, FMCG has become a career choice for many women professionals. Today people believe that their extraordinary ability to transcend any untoward situation into a better opportunity. Their empathy, and them being natural design thinkers, innovators and problem solvers make them a unique leader. Though we have a few leaders to look upon, they are acting as the source of inspiration for many to follow the suite.
