Women Leaders Bring Fresh Perspective To Problem Solving & Business Growth

Achieving gender equality at work has been on the global agenda for several years now. The topic has been widely discussed nationally and internationally and the desired right course of action has been charted out. Some countries have even made giant strides in promoting more women to join the workforce. Such nations have also gained massively from building a more gender inclusive workforce.
It is important to understand that inclusive workforces and leadership teams don’t just benefit the women. It also brings an added advantage to organizations, communities and the economy as a whole. Gender equality contributes towards economic advantages and improve productivity.
Women’s perspective in decision making roles also bring great advantages on board owing to an all-round view on the problem at hand. Women’s inherent qualities can also be leveraged for organisational benefits.

On the cover we have Swarna Subramanian. She has over three decades of experience working in the corporate industry. Swarna believes in building high performance teams through effective communication that can efficiently bridge learning gaps in the ed-tech industry. She is also a former national level chess player and has a background in English Literature.
“My success mantra is that I never give up, lead a very disciplined life and take baby steps each day towards reaching my dreams. Learning Saga Technologies was conceived during the Covid 19 pandemic and the lockdowns which made us go back to the drawing board very often to come up with innovative and versatile solutions. I believe that when the going gets tough, the tough get going,” says Swarna.
Swarna’s success story is followed by the professional odyssey of Nalini Parthiban, Co-Founder, Sweet Karam Coffee. Nalini, a trendsetter in the food and beverage industry, obtained her bachelor's degree and an MBA from Anna University, Chennai. And, before establishing Sweet Karam Coffee, Nalini worked for corporations such as Royal Bank of Scotland Business and IDP Education.
“As a first-generation entrepreneur, I am humbled & take pride in the fact that I have been able to create a successful company from scratch and generate more than a million dollars in revenue while increasing sales by almost 100 percent year over year, with NO outside funding. It becomes even more remarkable when done while being a mother to a 6-year-old and leaving a comfortable 9-5 job. To that end, I believe that Passion, Perseverance, and Patience have been the three most important factors in my accomplishments,” says Nalini.
