CHROs Armoring Businesses Up to Face & Counter 'People Challenges'

We are living in an era when the world of business and employment is undergoing a paradigm shift. Employees today need much more than financial compensation. They are looking for feedback, engagement and inspiration at work. Especially, post the global pandemic work-places have had to face tough challenges including ‘the great resignation’, emergence of WFH & hybrid work model etc. addressing these challenges successfully requires a visionary leadership from people leaders within organizations. The role of an HR leader has thus, undergone a sea of change. “The role of CHRO has evolved from operational to strategic business leader due to complex organizational environments and factors like digitalization, changing workforce profiles, and new ways of working,” believes Ruhie Pande, CHRO, Godrej Capital.
Ruhie throws light on her views on the evolvign role of the CHRO and her journey as a leader in HR in the current edition of Women Entrepreneur India magazine. She holds an MS in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Birkbeck College, University of London, and a PGDBA in HR from Symbiosis Centre for Learning & Development. With her extensive education and experience, Ruhie has had a significant impact on the human resources industry.

Ravitha is a seasoned HR professional with a Bachelor's in Computer Application (2004) from GRG College of Technology and a PGD in HRM from St. Joseph's College of Business Administration. With multi-sector experience in education, healthcare, pharma, shared services, and IT product, Ravitha has a wellrounded perspective on HR.
She is joined by Dr. Reena Das, Chief Human Resource Officer, and a visionary, constantly explores innovative approaches that can enhance the quality of both personal and professional lives of people. Her relentless pursuit of progress and betterment has been a driving force in people empowerment. Dr Reena says, “HR is no more a passive function in today’s corporate world. Some of the biggest challenges are talent attraction, technology, remote/hybrid work models, managing diversity and inclusion, leadership development, succession planning, and most importantly, employee engagement.”
The magazine edition also features Vineeta Sharma, Chief Human Resource Officer. With a Bachelor's from Agra University & completed MBA Master’s Degree from SMU University, Vineeta has had a humble beginning as a Customer Care Officer, and today she holds over 12 years of experience growing from an HR to CHRO. She is a strong professional skilled in HR, QMS & Operations.“HR deals with many issues, but probably the biggest challenges faced today are Recruitment, Retention & Motivation, Leadership Development, and Corporate Culture,” says Vineeta while underlining the challenges faced by HR leaders today.
