Bits Pilani Shaping Prolific Woman Leaders Of Tomorrow

Educational institutions are the bedrock of the nation’s growth and development. To that end, Birla Institute of Technology’s mission is to improve knowledge and educate students in science, technology, and other areas of scholarship that will best serve the nation and the world in the 21st century.

Over the years BITS Pilani has proven that business and technology can go hand in hand, from its alumni doing wonders in the field of technology to making strides in entrepreneurship. The institute has been instrumental in shaping the successful journeys of a plethora of women leaders who have conquered various industries and sectors.

In the current edition of Women Entrepreneur India magazine, we bring to you the success stories of such women leaders. Papiya Raipal, Country Director and Vice President, Kigen is one of them. Bringing more than two decades of industry expertise with a proven track record of building and leading high-performance technical teams in India and abroad.

Anindita Mahapatra, Vice President, Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India (MBRDI) is another illustrious woman leader featured in this issue. She is a strong business leader who never backs away from challenges and she is always open to learning and growing! As the leader of the MB.OS Base Technologies Department, Anindita Mahapatra, along with her team, is responsible to adapt the software platform solution for various electronic control units that go into the car.

Next women leader to be featured is Nilofar Chhatriwala, Director, Mountire Machinery & Components. With a strong background in business and leadership, Nilofar Chhatriwala plays a crucial role in overseeing the operations and strategic direction of Mountire Machinery & Components. She brings extensive experience in the machinery and components industry, and her expertise enables Mountire to thrive in a competitive market.

Sharmila Anand, Founder, Inspera & Co Founder, Parentteening is another leader from BITS Pilani. MD -Medical Doctor having an M.Phil from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, and an MBA from the University of Colorado, Denver, Dr. Sharmila is a bestselling author, international consultant, inspirational speaker, and a woman leader with 20+ years of experience in the healthcare domain.

Joining other women leaders is Sindhura Indukuri, Co-Founder & Managing Director, The Shri Ram Academy. Sindhura is a highly accomplished professional with a diverse range of experience in the finance and education sectors. She completed her M.Sc in Finance from BITS Pilani and went on to earn an MBA from the Babson School of Business. She has worked with top companies such as J.P. Morgan, Ernst & Young, and Indu Projects, gaining valuable experience.

Vina Vaswani, Director Centre for Ethics Professor Forensic Medicine, Yenepoya University is another women leader. An alumnus of BITS Pilani with an M.Phil in Hospital and Health Systems Management, Dr. Vaswani is a qualified bioethicist with a background in Forensic Medicine & Toxicology. She completed her MA in Bioethics as an Erasmus Mundus scholar from three European Universities (Belgium, Netherlands, and Italy).
