Hospitality is big business!
The WTTC report released in 2020 recognized hospitality and allied services as one of the most swiftly developing industries in India. It contributes about 6.8 percent of India’s total GDP and employs close to 39 million people.
The industry size is currently pegged at INR 82000 crore. Going forward the Indian hospitality sector is expected to grow at a CAGR of 10.5 percent over the next three years according to the Axis Securities sectoral report.
The Indian hospitality sector which is one of the most sought-after industry globally, has been undergoing significant changes. While domestic travellers contribute a sizable chunk to the industry, the number of foreign tourists is expected to growth by 30 percent.
As travellers get accustomed to living in a digitally savvy world, their expectations from travel providers will become the same. “Technology will reshape the industry, but successful brands will leverage it to enhance, not replace the human experience,” says Smeeta Pradhan is the CEO of Avianna Group in a conversation with team WER.
