The 2024 call for nominations closes on May 24.UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay invites nominations for the prize that will be awarded annually to two deserving laureates, recognizing their supporting initiatives at empowering girls and women through education and contributing to global positive change. In order to improve the literacy rate of girl children, financial support, infrastructure development, community awareness, combating gender norms, and addressing child marriage risks are essential for girl's education. NOMINATIONS OPEN FOR 2024 UNESCO PRIZE FOR GIRLS AND WOMEN'S EDUCATIONTHE BRITISH COUNCIL OFFERS STEM SCHOLARSHIPS FOR WOMEN ASPIRANTSWomen who are willing to pursue their careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) programs in top universities of the UK can get scholarships for their courses. The British Council partnered with a number of leading UK universities and is offering Women in STEM Scholarships to women with a bachelor's degree in STEM subjects, aiming to support their academic and professional growth. The initiative includes 25 top scholarships for women from India and South Asia with a dedication to promoting inclusivity and aligning with the UK's global research position.The British Council Scholarships for Women, a program aimed at empowering women in STEM, has allocated women candidates including those from UK universities like Queen Mary University of Lon-don, Anglia Ruskin University, Greenwich University, and Coventry University In order to place your appli-cations for the UK scholarship, applicants must start their studies in the UK between September/October 2024-2025, show their need for financial assistance, have a bachelor's degree in a STEM program, pass an English language test like TOEFL, and have relevant work experience in their filed. They must commit to being a dedicated British Council scholarship alumna.The respective scholarship aims to support female STEM students, with the UK ranking third globally for citable research. Since 2020, the council has awarded over 300 scholarships, with 92 scholars enrolled in 2023. 52 Indian women have received the scholarships through this program.
