According to reports, the industry is expected to grow at a CAGR of 11 percent to reach $9.5 billion over the next five years. The Indian diagnostic industry is also known to be largely fragmented. Although a few established big-wigs rule the market yet a larger section is captured by local and smaller players. Reports suggest that close to 80-85 percent of the industry is unorganised or dominated by regional players.Going forward the industry will see consolidation owing to the Indian government's healthcare-related policies. This will pave the way for potential growth in the next few years. It is also expected that diagnostic centers will further penetrate to smaller cities making these services widely available to smaller pockets of the nation as well. The current edition of Women Entrepreneur magazine shines the spotlight on women leaders from the Indian diagnostic industry who have been a crucial part of the industry's impending growth trajectory. In this edition we introduce you to Dr. RekhaRadhesh, a doctor and entrepreneur who is breaking the mould by running a diagnostic chain and bringing forth a revolution in the industry. Next we outline the journey of Dr. Paula Mukherjee Goel, Founder of Fayth Clinic. Dr. Paula Goel is a national-level trainer in pediatrics and adolescent medicine and is using her abilities to deliver better healthcare and create awareness about lifestyle diseases. Fayth Clinic is a chain of certified Multi-Specialty clinics and diagnostic centers specializing in cardiac healthcare, child healthcare, diagnostics, vaccinations, skincare, and corporate and institutional health checkups.The list also includes Dr.ManjiriBakre, Founder & CEO, OncoStem Diagnostics. Losing a dear friend to breast cancer motivated Dr Manjiri to start - OncoStem Diagnostics to develop innovative tests which help in understanding `risk of cancer recurrence' and plan treatment based on that. After five years of R&D and hard work, she, along with her team, launched innovative flagship test 'Can Assist Breast' to predict risk of recurrence/metastasis among select early stage breast cancer patients to facilitate them with personalized cancer treatment.These illustrious women are joined byDr.Neepa Chowdhury who chose her career path in diagnostics.
