More than half of the professionals in the field of PR are women, with females constituting nearly 70 percent of the total work force. Although women form a majority in PR, yet there exists a significant inequality in the pay that both genders receive. According to US Bureau of the Census, 2017 men make significantly more than women in PR illustrating that inequalities for women are still relevant today. The same disparity can be witnessed when it comes to leadership roles in the sector as well. Women hold only about 30 percent of the top positions in the PR industry, despite being in a majority in entry level and mid-level roles. The road to inclusivity is a long one and PR firms are enroute the tough journey.
