9 October2021MoU was signed between UNICEF and Amity University Chhattisgarh (AUC) for the establishment of a Centre of Knowledge on Children, Women, and Tribal Development at the Amity University Chhattisgarh (AUC) campus.Among those present at the MoU signing ceremony were Chhattisgarh UNICEF chief Job Zachariah and Amity University Chhattisgarh vice-chancellor Prof R K Pandey. Amity will collaborate with UNICEF on child and maternal health, nutrition, education, early childhood development, solid waste management, and a variety of other tribal development issues.Prof R K Pandey, vice-chancellor of Amity University Chhattisgarh, stated that Amity University Chhattisgarh will collaborate with UNICEF on tribal development initiatives. This strategic partnership with UNICEF will go a long way toward improving the tribal population's overall socioeconomic level through technology and education.All AUC students from various schools, including engineering, management, law, mass communication, fashion, architecture, and biotechnology, will benefit from this collaboration and work closely with the tribal community.The AUC NSS (National Service Scheme) Unit will also be given a large region to serve the tribal community. Under the MoU, UNICEF and AUC would strengthen knowledge management, build capacities of people and institutions, academic support as a Centre of Excellence, technical support in planning and monitoring, youth empowerment, innovations and incubation centres, and many other activities, he said.Previously the Amity Foundation has also announced that it will cover the cost of students' remaining education at Amity Universities across the country who have lost their parents to Covid. A total of 50 billion rupees has been set aside to assist these students.
