And the occurrences have already begun.OVER 82,000 WOMEN APPLY FOR THE INDIAN NAVY THROUGH THE AGNIPATH SCHEMEThe Indian Navy received over 80,000 applications from female candidates as the registration for the Senior Secondary Recruit (SSR) and Matric Recruit (MR) concluded on Wednesday (August 3, 2022), according to the officials. The Agnipath scheme will be used to hire the aforementioned profiles. "Indian Navy`s SSR (Senior Secondary Recruit) & MR (Matric Recruit) registration process towards the Agnipath Recruitment Scheme' has been completed. 9.55 lakh Agniveer applicants including 82,000 women aspirants have registered", tweeted the official handle of Indian Navy. The Indian Navy announced its intention to hire women sailors on June 20th through the recently unveiled Agnipath recruitment scheme, with a focus on gender-neutrality in all of its branches.OVER 22 PERCENT OF SMALL FIRMS RECEIVING LOANS IN FY22 WERE RUN BY WOMEN, NEOGROWTH REPORTAccording to the annual Social Impact Report by MSME-focused digital lender NeoGrowth, over 22 percent of small enterprises that received loans in the fiscal year 2022 were owned and operated by women. The report highlighted that loan disbursals to women borrowers have increased exponentially at a compound annual growth rate of 72 percent since FY 2015, `signifying gender equality', based on a survey of 250 NeoGrowth clients in seven cities. NeoGrowth stated that it also supported the government's financial inclusion agenda by providing loans to emerging small businesses that have been operating for less than or equal to five years, at a 60 percent rate, to young entrepreneurs under the age of 35, at a 36 percent rate, and at a 38 percent rate to small-ticket, less than or equal to Rs.10 lakh.IN A FIRST, AN ALL-FEMALE NAVY AIR CREW COMPLETES ITS FIRST MISSION IN THE ARABIAN SEAThe Indian Navy announced on Thursday that an all-women navy aircrew had `made history' by performing an independent maritime reconnaissance and surveillance mission in the north Arabian Sea on board a Dornier 228 aircraft on Wednesday. Mission commander and captain Lieutenant Commander Aanchal Sharma, pilots Lieutenant Shivangi and Lieutenant Apurva Gite, tactical officer Lieutenant Pooja Panda, and sensor officer Sub Lieutenant Pooja Shekhawat are the five women that participated in the achievement. The change occurs at a time when more avenues have opened for women in the military. The Naval Air Enclave in Porbandar is where the five female officers are stationed.
