Gen AI, which is expected to revolutionize the industry, can help women overcome traditional barriers and excel in their careers. However, there is a clear disparity between women's recognition of GenAI's importance and their clear confidence in using it. NASSCOM and BCG released a report, "GenAI: The Diversity Game Changer We Can't Ignore," during the Global Inclusion Summit, Bengaluru, analyzing women's adoption of AI and recommending actionable steps for an inclusive environment and sustainable growth.The report highlights the high professional ambitions of women in the AI industry, emphasizing the importance of diversity in reducing bias and enhancing ethical outcomes. With GenAI is expected to dominate 33 per cent of the global AI landscape by 2027, with a CAGR of 25-35 per cent. Women are willing to invest more time in GenAI, with 95 per cent junior, 96 per cent mid-management, and 100 per cent senior management for success. They view GenAI tools as a boost to their perceived competence, with 1 in 5 women using GenAI tools daily. Gen AI adoption is driven by efficiency and innovation.Suggestions have been mentioned by the report including, that organizations must create supportive environments for GenAI adoption, addressing barriers such as lack of preparedness by employers. Key actions include clear career pathways, mentorship programs, flexible work arrangements, ethical training, a culture of empowerment, diversity, and inclusion, and networking opportunities. Additionally, NASSCOM has further unveiled a DE&I Organization Assessment Framework to help organizations track their progress.
