Although the growth has been gradual, but the pace has been steady. World Economic Forum's global gender gap report (published in July 2022) noted that the overall global gender gap has narrowed between 2021 and 2022. It also stated that the movement has been slight and little progress had been made. Some countries have been more successful than others in improving gender-parity. The 2022 report stated that the UK had closed 78 percent of its gender gap. The UK was ranked at 22nd spot out of 146 countries.In terms of the global gender gap for educational attainment the UK ranked 33. The country ranked at the 44th spot in terms of economic participation and opportunity. The data makes it apparent that while women in the UK have received improved growth opportunities, yet there remains ample scope for improvement.
