As a result an increasing number of Indians have been moving to other nations in search of better lives and opportunities. UAE has gradually emerged as one of the most sought after regions to immigrate to. It's no surprise that today the Indian expat community which is close to 3/5 million strong is arguably the largest ethnic community in the UAE. These statistics were presented in the International Migrant Stock 2020 released by the Population Division of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs. Indians today constitute about 30 percent of UAEs total population and six percent of this diaspora resides in the prosperous region, Dubai. The Indian diaspora has been instrumental in supporting the economic development in the UAE. Indian individuals in the UAE are well known and respected for their technical skills, industry know-how and work ethic which renders Indian expats an advantage over people of other nationalities.Indian residing in the UAE are largely employed professionals with a majority enrolled in white and blue collar jobs. Additionally 15 percent of Indians in the region work as professionals in the corporate world and businessmen. The region has also been experiencing a paradigm shift in terms of rising number of women entrepreneurs and business leaders rising to the very top of their respective fields. Statistics suggest that Dubai currently has over 52 female CEOs leading large organizations that range from a variety of sectors such as BFSI, telecom, hospitality, consumer goods, healthcare, HR and others. We at Women Entrepreneur magazine thought it an opportune time to shine the spotlight on success stories of Indian Women Leaders from Dubai. The current edition of the magazine presents to you a list of 10 illustrious women leaders who have established themselves as entrepreneurs and business leaders in the Dubai business landscape.
