However, the city has also carved a savvy identity for itself over the past few years. Earlier known for its IT prowess, Hyderabad has gradually become a haven for startups. With the formation of the new state and a stable government came in a new vigor which transformed the City of Nizamsinto a coveted destination for enterprising entrepreneurs, investors and incubators alike. According to reports Hyderabad is currently home to over 4000 active startups. In 2020 Startup Genome evaluated about 300 ecosystems globally and Hyderabad was named among the Top 100 Emerging Ecosystems Ranking globally. Over the past two decades the city has been home to tech giants such as Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Deloitte and Amazon, which set the groundwork for Hyderabad to tap underserved domains such as deep tech. As big multinationals chose Hyderabad as the city of choice for settingup their local campuses, the city's ecosystem saw a good deal flow for investors. It also provided stakeholders a greater chance to interact with more offbeat and innovative start-ups, ensuring a profitable market for funders, investors and startups alike. Leveraging its strengths in domains such as life sciences, AI, big data and analytics, Telangana as a state has created $759 million in ecosystem value with $65 million in total early-stage funding over the last 2.5 years.A major factor behind Hyderabad's rise as a startup hub has been the state government's push towards fostering an incubation hub. In 2015, the government had launched T-Hub, one of the biggest incubators in the country. T-Hub is an initiative between the government of Telangana, the private sector and India's leading academic institutions. Hyderabad has over 35 incubators across various verticals such as ICRISAT, CCMB, IIIT to name a few. The city is also home to a talented and young population of professionals who make Hyderabad a hotbed of immense talent & opportunity.
