8 OCTOBER2023INFOCUSThe Vodafone Idea Foundation praised 40 female students Thursday who are from the maiden batch of the IoT Centre of Excellence.Around 300 students have applied for the first batch in the Vi Foundation which is a mobile network operator set up in CoE which has collaborated with the Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC).To extend the benefits of this project, 15 boys have also been selected for providing the course pilot, and apart from this in the 300 applications, the females will be provided proper guidance about STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).The senior manager at the TSSC for the IoT Centre stated that they are already running some major projects for the economically weaker sections but in this project, they are more focused on empowering women in society.With the increase in new technologies such as 5G and IoT, there is an increase in the demand for skilled professionals, said KK Dwivedi, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Additional Secretary. VI FOUNDATION FELICITATES 40 FEMALE STUDENTS FROM IOT CENTRE OF EXCELLENCEIn collaboration with the Indian Embassy in Chicago, the DTribals held a Swadeshi Mela Indian American Trade Fair where Shallu Jindal, the Chairperson of JSP Foundation was honored with the International Women of the Year Award. This prestigious award was presented to her for her exceptional contributions to social change, which had a positive impact on q0 million people in rural and tribal areas of Jharkhand, Odisha, Chattisgarh, and all over India.Somnath Ghosh, the Consul General of the Indian Embassy in Chicago, attended the program's inauguration as a Chief guest.On receiving the award, Shallu expressed her gratitude and mentioned her commitment to improving the standard of living for the citizens of India. She stated about the dedication her team shows to providing a healthy life to the socially vulnerable people of the society. She has been supporting a number of initiatives and programs to provide better education, healthcare, skill development, and empowering women in all aspects of life.The Chairperson of JSP Foundation has made numerous humanitarian efforts along with raising awareness of Indian dance and culture around the world.
