8 OCTOBER2023Andhra Pradesh is fostering an entrepreneurial-friendly ecosystem, especially for women entrepreneurs, by providing mentorship, networking opportunities, and crucial financial support. Gudivada Amarnath, the Industries and IT Minister emphasized the state's commitment to nurturing innovative ideas into thriving businesses.During the inaugural workshop and pitching event for women entrepreneurs in Visakhapatnam, Amarnath highlighted the state's recognition of mentoring and networking as essential components of a successful entrepreneurial journey.The state government has partnered with financial institutions to ensure accessible and affordable credit options for women entrepreneurs. This financial support is considered pivotal in enabling women to transform their innovative concepts into flourishing businesses, closing the gender financing gap significantly.Moreover, Andhra Pradesh has initiated mentorship programs and networking events that connect women entrepreneurs with experienced industry professionals and potential investors. These platforms offer valuable guidance and open doors to funding opportunities and partnerships, empowering women entrepreneurs to succeed in their ventures.To further empower and nurture the entrepreneurial spirit among women in Andhra Pradesh, a two-day workshop is being hosted by the Andhra Pradesh Innovation Society in collaboration with Niti Aayog, STPI Visakhapatnam, NASSCOM CoE IoT, and Startup India. The workshop is designed to provide crucial support and empowerment to women aspiring to establish their businesses within the state.Minister Amarnath also discussed the state's proactive efforts in promoting startups, including the implementation of an IT Policy that outlines measures for startup development, training programs to address knowledge gaps in various business aspects, and access to market reports and surveys.Additionally, the state is launching the Accelerate Startups in Andhra Pradesh (ASAP) scheme, which offers resources such as office space, access to investors and mentors, and tapping into the state's talent pool.This comprehensive approach underscores Andhra Pradesh's commitment to fostering a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem, particularly focusing on the needs and aspirations of women entrepreneurs, as they play an increasingly vital role in the state's economic growth and development. India secured 107 medals, its highest-ever medal tally in history, and is placed in fourth place on the Asian Games medal table. Out of the medal tally, 12 medals were won by the athletes who have been supported by the Reliance Foundation, which significantly aided the success of the country with the hashtag, #LehraDoTeamIndia.The founder and chairperson of the Reliance Foundation, Mrs. Nita Ambani expressed her joy at India's enormous success at the continental competition. She congratulated Team India for making the nation and Asian Games proud. Their record-breaking haul of more than 100 medals serves as a powerful illustration of the youth of India.She further stated that they are proud of the 12 medals that the Reliance Foundation athletes brought to the country. Kishore Jena, Jyothi Yarraji, Palak Gulia, and many other players deserve special recognition for their outstanding performances during the event. The Reliance Foundation is dedicated to helping young athletes develop their sporting talent.Lovlina Borgohain, a boxer who won a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics, grabbed a silver medal in the Women's 75kg division, securing her sporting in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Lovlina is the only second Indian female boxer to advance to the Asian Games gold medal match.Kishore Jena became India's second-best Javelin thrower with a phenomenal throw of 87.54 meters with a silver medal.Palak Gulia clinched a Gold in the women's 10m air pistol event and became the youngest Indian shooter ever to bring a medal in this competition.The RF athletes brought the highest number of medals to the tally, including 6 golds, 14 silvers, and 9 bronzes. India kept a dominance in the Athletics events at this Asian Games 2023.Kartik Kumar and Gulveer Singh brought a remarkable 2-3 finish in the Men's 10,000m event.Jyothi Yarraji secured India's first-ever medal in women's 100m hurdles by grabbing a silver.With a silver in the men's 800m by Mohammad Afsal and a bronze in men's 1500m by Jinson Johnson, became India's first male athlete to win a medal at multiple events at Asian Games.Dhruv Kapila took a silver in men's Badminton whereas Simranjeet Kaur had a bronze in women's recurve Archery.Tushar Shelke competed on the men's recurve team that defeated Bangladesh in the semifinals and took home silver.
