8 MAY20238 MAY2023INFOCUSINFOCUSUttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha also known as UP Board announced the results of both Intermediate (12th) and High School (10th) on Tuesday in Prayagraj.The percentage of students who pass their 10th is 89.78 percent whereas 75.52 percent of students passed their 12th board exams. This year, there was a decrease of 9.81 percentage points in the passing rate for the intermediate exams as in the previous year the pass percentage for intermediate was 85.33 percent. In addition to that, the pass percentage of 10th board exams has increased by 1.6 percentage points, the previous year it was 88.18 percent.The girls have made their names at the top of the results. Priyanshi Soni, a student from Sitapur of Sita Bal Vidya Mandir Inter College has topped her high school exam with a score of 590 out of 600 scoring 98.33 perceant while the intermediate boards have been topped by Shubh Chhapra, a student from the Mahoba district of Saraswati Vidya Mandir Inter College secured 498 out of 500 scoring 97.80 percent.In the high school results, the overall pass percentage of boys is 86.64 percent while for girls it is 93.34 percent. Girls outshined boys in terms of pass percentage by 6.7 percentage points.In the intermediate results, the overall pass percentage for boys is 69.34 while it is 83 percent for girls. In the 12th also, girls outperformed boys by 13.66 percentage points. UP BOARD RESULTS 2023: GIRLS TOP THE LIST IN BOTH 10TH AND 12TH STDLEADERSHIP INITIATIVE FOR VISUALLY CHALLENGED WOMEN PROFESSIONALS TAKEN BY IIM AHMEDABADThe Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) is a premier global management institute that started an initiative named One-Of-Its-Kind for visually challenged women professionals. The programme was developed by Professor Rajesh Chandwani, an IIMA faculty member and the Dr Lal PathLabs Chair in Healthcare at IIMA. The initiative aims at providing knowledge and skills to the participants to prepare them for leadership activities.The initiative was joined by eleven other professors from IIMA and the Blind People's Association (BPA) who are experts in various other academic fields. They all have come together to lead the workshops for the participants on various topics.The IIMA Endowment Fund and Lal PathLabs collaboratively working on this programme. Through CSR activities, skill development and creating awareness initiatives, Lal PathLabs is prioritising the social development of this programme.Director of IIMA, Professor Bharat Bhasker; Managing Director of Dr Lal PathLabs and alumnus of IIMA, Om Manchanda; General Secretary of BPA, Mr Bhushan Punani, PhD student at IIMA, Tarun Vashishth; CEO, IIMA Endowment Fund, Ms Chhavi Moodgal and Faculty Chair, Programme on Leadership and Strategic Thinking for Social Sector, Professor Rajesh Chandwani along with the participants and other faculty members attended the opening session of the programme.The programme was attended by 25 participants who belonged to a variety of organisations based in Delhi, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Odisha and Madhya Pradesh. They were provided training about Strategic Thinking for the Social Sector Governance and Compliance Issues in NGOs and Financial Literacy: Issues Challenges and Opportunities to Managing Negotiations to Leading Self in the Social Sector and many more topics which were needed.
