The announcement was made on May 13, 2024.Melinda Gates and her ex-husband, Bill Gates established the foundation in the 2000 and she committed herself for the upliftment of the needy through the foundation since then. She has always been known for being a philanthropist and now when she is resigning from the firm. Her entire focus will be on the women empowerment. June 7, 2024, will be her last day at the foundation.She posted on her X, saying, "After careful thought and reflection, I have decided to resign from my role as co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation." She said that the foundation is in a strong state and this would be the best time for her to move further with her own journey.Because of her exit, Melinda shall get a total resource of $12.5 billion in order to direct toward her philanthropic work. She said that the money will be used "to commit to my work on behalf of women and families." The Central Board of Secondary Education Class XII examinations, 2024, saw an 87.9 percent success rate, slightly higher than last year's 87.3 percent. The number of students who scored over 90 per cent in aggregate increased from 1.12 lakh to 1.16 lakh. Additionally, Girls outperformed boys, with a 91.5 per cent success rate compared to 85.1 percent. The highest pass percentages were in Panchkula with 93.9 percent, Patna with 89.1 percent, Noida with 87.1 percent, and Dehradun with 88.4 percent. Thiruvananthapuram topped 17 CBSE regions with a pass percentage of 99.9 percent, followed by Vijayawada, Chennai, and Bengaluru.The pass percentage of schools in India, including those run by the Central Tibetan School Administration, is the highest at 99.2 percent. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas and Kendriya Vidyalayas have the highest success rates at 98.9 percent and 98.8 percent respectively. Government-aided schools have a pass rate of 91.4 percent, while independent schools have the lowest at 87.7 percent. The pass percentage of CBSE schools in foreign countries is 95.8 percent.Over 1,2 lakh students in India received compartmental results, a slight decrease from last year. The percentage of students scoring 90 percent has decreased due to the different examination systems adopted during the Covid period. However, both Class X and Class XII students in Delhi have performed phenomenally, with schools now focusing on a holistic approach to education. The total number of CBSE Class XII schools in India increased by 1,700 to 18,417 in 2024, with 5,126 exam centers. English was the highest-scoring subject, with 3,990 candidates achieving a perfect score. Non-core subjects witnessed the highest scores with painting, artificial intelligence, and informatics practices.
